Montclair Cooling Stations Will Be Open; Hot Weather Predicted

MONTCLAIR, NJ — Weather forecasters are calling for temperatures to heat up again this week across New Jersey, including Montclair, where several cooling stations will be open for local residents.

Temperatures are set to hover around the low-90s on Tuesday, with slightly warmer temperatures focused around the I-95 corridor, the National Weather Service said. Tuesday marks a return to even hotter temperatures, as the 90-degree-and-up streak will continue this week with a high near 90 on Wednesday and a high near 93 on Friday, forecasters said. The hottest day of the week appears to be Thursday, according to the National Weather Service, where "oppressive" temperatures in the 90s could feel much hotter, possibly warranting a heat advisory.

AccuWeather meteorologists predicted a similar heat wave, saying that a heat dome that has been responsible for the record-breaking temperatures in the Northwest will shift eastward during the first week of August.
