Montclair Cops Earn NJ Women in Law Enforcement Valor Awards

MONTCLAIR, NJ — Three police officers and a detective with the Montclair Police Department recently earned Women in Law Enforcement Valor Awards.

According to the MPD, officers Nicole Muccio, Jillian Sofield and Glenda Rivera, and Detective Anjannette Sanders, were recipients of the 2019-2021 Women in Law Enforcement Valor Awards.

Montclair Local reported that Sofield and Muccio assisted in a crisis call with a man who had threatened to shoot his father. Sanders helped put out a fire at Montclair High School, and Rivera, as part of the LGBTQ Law Enforcement Liaison Organization, received the 2020 Benefactors Award from the N.J. Women in Law Enforcement.

An award ceremony was held at the Grand Marquis in Old Bridge in May.
