Montclair Cops Seek Armed Robbery Suspects: Delta Gas Station on Harrison Avenue

The employee told Montclair police that one man grabbed him by the throat and the other put a gold-colored handgun against his neck.

Montclair, NJ – Montclair police are seeking two suspects after they allegedly conducted an armed robbery at the Delta gas station on Harrison Avenue, authorities said.

According to the Montclair Police Department, the incident took place around 6:22 p.m. on Saturday, when two men allegedly approached the employee on foot and asked if he could sell them cigarettes.

One of the suspects then  grabbed the employee by the throat and pushed him further into the booth, while his accomplice placed a gold-colored handgun against his neck and demanded money, police said.

The gas station gave the men about $1,000 in cash and they fled the scene east on Virginia Avenue, police said.

Nobody was injured in the incident, police stated.

Montclair police described the suspect who allegedly grabbed the employee by the throat as a heavyset Hispanic male about 5 foot 9 inches, and wearing a black baseball cap and dark-colored sweatpants.

Police described the suspect who allegedly brandished the gun as a tall, dark-complexioned black male, wearing a black baseball cap, dark t-shirt and black sweatpants with a white/gray band around the right leg below the knee. The man is believed to walk with a limp, police said.
