Updated: Montclair Rescinds Snow Emergency; What You Need To Know
Montclair declared a local state of emergency as weather forecasters warned about a possible snowstorm across the state.
MONTCLAIR, NJ — Montclair has rescinded a local state of emergency, which was launched after a statewide snowstorm, authorities announced Friday.
The Garden State was blanketed in snow on Friday morning after a second snowstorm blew through the region this week. That state of emergency was rescinded on Friday afternoon.

"Vehicle owners without permits will have until 9:30 p.m. today to remove their vehicles from municipal parking lots and decks," officials said. "The 9:30 p.m. deadline will be enforced so that snow removal crews can clear the lots and decks."
Montclair officials issued the following reminders on Thursday:
- Residents are reminded that parking on snow-covered streets is prohibited by ordinance 327-25. The no-parking prohibition remains in effect for a period of 12 hours after the snowfall has stopped in order to facilitate snow removal operations.
- Police will be ticketing and towing vehicles parked on the streets during this period.
- Residents may park their vehicles free of charge in municipal lots and decks from 6:00 p.m. tonight until the streets have been cleared of snow.
- A notice will go out to provide vehicle owners a 6-hour window for removing their vehicles from the lots and decks, once the streets have been cleared.
