Montclair Explores Possibility Of Local Shuttle Bus, Town Meeting Planned

MONTCLAIR, NJ — Does Montclair need a shuttle bus? That’s the discussion taking place at a community meeting later this month.

A township committee has been investigating the possibility of creating a local shuttle bus program since January 2025.

The Shuttle Bus Subcommittee will host a community meeting to get feedback from the community about the proposal at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 30 in the council chambers at Town Hall, 205 Claremont Avenue.

Here’s what to expect, according to an advisory from the township:

“The committee has been exploring the possibility of a local shuttle bus program and will share an interim report with updates on its research, findings from the town-wide community survey, and potential shuttle bus concepts. Residents are invited to attend, learn more about the committee’s work, ask questions, and provide feedback. Community input will help inform the committee’s next steps and future recommendations to the Township Council.”

The committee expects to release an interim report in mid-September.
