Montclair Film Permits: See What Shows Came To Town Last Year

Montclair has seen a rise in film permits after a pandemic dip. Shows include "Real Housewives of New Jersey" and "Impractical Jokers."

MONTCLAIR, NJ — The coronavirus crisis may have slowed down filming in Montclair, but there were still plenty of projects filmed in town over the past year.

Montclair issued only 67 film permits in 2020 due to the pandemic, as opposed to 83 permits in 2019. Of note in 2020 were "The Real Housewives of New Jersey," "iRobot," "Ghosted" Season 2," "Impractical Jokers," "Road Comics from Kevin Hart" and several commercials.

But so far this year, filming has begun to rebound. From January to August 2021, Montclair officials issued 47 film permits, including:

  • "The Real Housewives of New Jersey" - Production Date: various dates in August 2021, at 2 Edgewood Terrace.
  • "Ways & Means" - a CBS Pilot, which per imdb is not going forward, filmed in January-February.
  • People Magazine had a still shoot in May.

There were also several commercials filmed in Montclair so far in 2021, including:

  • Super Fan TV, AT & T, Verizon, KOHL's, and H&R Block in January
  • Primatene in February
  • Geico and Botox in March
  • Spectrum, Olay, and Verizon in April
  • Sandy Hooke Promise, Reimagined Spaces, and JB Weld in May
  • Mass Mutual, Yellowtail Wine, and Freedom Mobile in June
  • Visa/ NFL, NJM Insurance Group, Chase, Alzheimer Association, and Summit Health in July
  • Anti-Smoking PSA, and 2K2021 in August
