Montclair To Get Zipcar Service, Expand Transportation Options
Montclair will soon join neighboring Montclair State University when it gets a new influx of Zipcars.
Montclair residents without cars will soon have another transportation option when Zipcar comes to town.
The carshare service – which rents out vehicles to its members complete with gas and insurance and operates nationwide - has announced plans to bring service to Montclair in the coming weeks.
Vehicles will be located in the Crescent Parking Deck and at the Valley & Bloom residential/retail/office development.

“Montclair continues to expand our alternative transportation options,” Mayor Robert Jackson stated. “We were the first town in the state to offer public charging stations for pluggable electric cars, we opened a new bike depot for commuters at the Bay Street Train Station last year, and now we’ll have Zipcar in our town.”
Montclair State University currently partners with Zipcar at a discounted rate for students.

MSU Zipcars are located in Lot 20 (by the Recreation Center) and in the parking lot at the NJ Transit Train Station.
