MONTCLAIR, NJ — The Montclair GOP is among the voices calling for President Joe Biden to resign in the wake of new demands from two Republican lawmakers in Congress.

On Wednesday – citing a “highly credible” whistleblower – U.S. Sen. Chuck Grassley of Iowa and U.S. Rep. James Comer announced that they are demanding the FBI produce an unclassified record that may link Biden to a “criminal scheme” involving a foreign national.

According to the lawmakers, the document – an FBI-generated FD-1023 form – allegedly details an “arrangement involving an exchange of money for policy decisions.”

“The information provided by a whistleblower raises concerns that then-Vice President Biden allegedly engaged in a bribery scheme with a foreign national,” Comer said. “The American people need to know if President Biden sold out the United States of America to make money for himself.”

No additional details about the allegations or the source of the information was included in a statement from the two lawmakers.

A White House spokesperson accused the lawmakers of “floating anonymous innuendo,” and said that Congressional Republicans have been “lobbing unfounded, unproven, politically-motivated attacks against the president and his family” for years, Politico reported.

Regardless, some of Biden’s critics – including Montclair Republican County Committee Chairman Michael Byrne – have rallied behind the subpoena from Comer, who chairs the House Oversight Committee.

Byrne called for the president’s “immediate resignation.”

“Joe Biden took a career in public service and turned it into a massive influence-peddling business benefiting nearly everyone in his family,” Byrne said. “It’s time for Biden to step aside and make his financial records fully transparent for law enforcement authorities.”
