In Montclair: Graffiti and Vandalism At School, Fight in Restaurant, Attempted Home Burglary, Stolen BMW and Chevy Camaro

Editor’s Note: The following incidents are taken directly from the Montclair police blotter, which may not include the full scope of police activity in the area. All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty.

6-16-2015 (Mission Street) - Burglary to a residential garage. A bicycle was stolen in this incident. The garage door had been left unlocked.

6-16-2015 (Summit Avenue) - Attempted burglary of a residence. The homeowner heard a loud noise coming from the rear of the home. Responding officers discovered fresh pry marks on a rear entrance door.

6-16-2015 (Elm Street) - Burglary to a residential garage. Two bicycles were stolen in this incident. The garage door had been left unlocked.

6-17-2015 (35 Lackawanna, Pathmark) - Kaili Richardson, 33 yoa from Montclair, was arrested for shoplifting.

6-17-2015 (Sears Place) - Burglary to a garage. A bicycle was stolen from this unlocked garage.

6-17-2016 (Mission Street) - Burglary to a detached residential garage. The door to this structure had been left ajar. A bicycle was taken in this incident.

6-17-2015 (South Park Street) - A 2011 BMW X3 was stolen from the Sienna-parking garage. The keys were in the vehicle.

6-17-2015 (South Fullerton parking lot) - Theft from a vehicle. An envelope containing cash was taken. This vehicle was left unlocked.

6-17-2015 (Canterbury Park) - Graffiti was discovered spray-painted on the park garage house.

6-18-2015 (Watchung School) - A large field floodlight was discovered smashed overnight.

6-18-2015 (Bloomfield Avenue) - David Blakely, 25 yoa from Montclair, entered a restaurant and engaged in a physical altercation with staff. Blakely was arrested on open warrants out of Montclair ($2,075) and a No Bail warrant out of the Essex County Sheriff’s Office.

6-18-2015 (Wayside Place) - Theft from a motor vehicle parked in a driveway. Loose change was taken. The vehicle’s door lock was damaged in this incident.

6-19-2015 (Claremont Avenue) - A red 2010 Chevy Camaro was stolen from an apartment building parking lot.

6-21-2015 (Montclair High School) - Graffiti was sprayed on the Midland Avenue gymnasium entrance.
