The new year is yet to come, but Montclair has already kicked off its 2024 budget season.

MONTCLAIR, NJ — The new year is yet to come, but Montclair has already kicked off its 2024 budget season.

The Montclair Town Council held municipal budget hearings on Nov. 8 and Nov. 13, inviting department heads to make presentations about their finances – and what is needed for next year. Watch the videos below.

Presentations have been heard regarding the town’s police/fire departments, utilities, recreation, DCS, planning/zoning, law department, IT department, health department, human resources, library, municipal court, finance department, manager’s office and clerk’s office.

With an average home valued at $631,882, Montclair residents paid $20,775 in taxes in 2022, according to state statistics– up from $20,320 the previous year.
