Montclair Home Engulfed In Flames; Firefighter Hurt Battling Blaze
A Montclair firefighter was treated for minor injuries. The home took fire, smoke and water damage, authorities said.

MONTCLAIR, NJ — A Montclair firefighter suffered a minor injury while battling a blaze that razed a local home early Tuesday morning, authorities said.
The Montclair Fire Department got a call about a fire at a house on Madison Avenue at 12:25 a.m. When firefighters arrived, they found the home completely engulfed in flames.
The residents had already self-evacuated when firefighters arrived at the scene. None of them reported injuries, authorities said.

Firefighters immediately stretched multiple hose lines in a bid to extinguish the flames. The fire was eventually put out, but not before reaching 2nd alarm status.
A firefighter suffered minor injuries after the deck he was standing on collapsed. He was treated and released from a nearby hospital, authorities said.

There was fire damage to the rear of the house on all levels, as well as smoke and water damage. The home next door also received heat damage to its siding, authorities said.
The last unit cleared the scene at 4:26 a.m.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation, Montclair fire officials said Tuesday.
