Montclair Hospital Sued, Released Late Chef’s COVID Info: Report
The widow of late celebrity chef Floyd Cardoz is alleging that staff released private info about his COVID treatment, a report says.
MONTCLAIR, NJ — The widow of a late celebrity chef with ties to Essex County is suing a hospital in Montclair, alleging that his medical information was released to the public without the family’s consent after he died of the coronavirus two years ago, a report says.
Floyd Cardoz, a four-time James Beard Award nominee who won season 3 of Bravo's "Top Chef Masters," died in March 2020 at age 59. Barkha Cardoz is now claiming that a doctor and other staffers went public with medical treatment details without the family’s permission, and has filed a lawsuit in Essex County. A hospital spokesperson declined to comment on the lawsuit because it is “pending litigation,” NJ.com reported.
