Montclair HS ‘Dig Pink’ Event Fights Breast Cancer
The organizers of the MHS girls volleyball "Dig Pink" breast cancer fundraiser will have a new plateau to beat for next year's event: $6,579

MONTCLAIR, NJ — The organizers of the Montclair High School girls volleyball “Dig Pink” breast cancer fundraiser will have a new plateau to beat for next year’s event: $6,579. That’s how much the team raised in the name of breast health education during a recent exhibition matchup against Governor Livingston High School.
The 2017 Dig Pink rally – which included teams from middle schools, high schools and colleges across the nation – drew a full house of Montclair fans in support of the freshman, JV and varsity teams, many of them wearing pink to show their solidarity.
The overall effort was aided by Buzz Aldrin Middle School, which helped to collect donations at raise close to $900 this year, organizers said.

The proceeds from all donations benefited The Side-Out Foundation, a national non-profit organization located in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. Funds are currently devoted to cutting-edge targeted clinical trials at renowned medical institutions. Side-Out also devotes a portion of the funds to high-quality support services for cancer patients and their families, organizers said.
