Montclair Kids Can Read A Book To A Barber, Get Free Haircut

Kids who read a book to a barber/stylist get a free haircut as part of the Montclair Library's Fade to Books program.

MONTCLAIR, NJ — Montclair kids have a chance to earn themselves a free haircut this summer, and all it takes is reading a book out loud to their barber or stylist.

The Montclair Public Library is bringing back its Fade To Books program for kids 12 and younger, which encourages good reading habits to help combat the notorious “summer slide” for students.

“Montclair barbers and stylists are graciously offering to cut children’s hair for free when they read a book out loud during their haircuts as part of the second annual Fade to Books program. Participants will also have the opportunity to enter Montclair Public Library’s weekly drawings for select prizes.”
