Montclair Man Chases Away Would-Be Car Thief: Police

MONTCLAIR, NJ — A Montclair resident chased away a would-be car thief who tried to steal his new Mercedes on Sunday, authorities said.

According to the Montclair Police Department, a Lloyd Road resident said he saw an unknown man in a white SUV get out of the vehicle outside his home.

When the man tried to steal his 2021 Mercedes, the resident chased after him. The man then retreated to the SUV and fled the scene, authorities said.
