Montclair Man Robbed At Knifepoint: Police

Two suspects allegedly accosted a 55-year-old Montclair man on Walnut Street, police say.

Montclair, NJ – A Montclair man escaped an alleged knifepoint robbery attempt without injury last week, police said.

According to the Montclair Police Department, the incident took place around 11:36 p.m. on Feb. 23, as a 55-year-old local man was walking on Walnut Street. The victim told police that two suspects approached him, one of whom allegedly pulled out a knife and demanded that he hand over his wallet and watch.

“The victim did not immediately comply with their demands, causing the suspects to flee eastbound on Walnut Street,” police stated.

Nobody was injured during the incident, authorities stated.

Police said the victim described the suspects as two black males between 20 and 29-years-old and around 5 feet 8 inches.

One suspect was wearing a yellow/orange hooded sweatshirt, with a black mask covering his face, police stated.
