Montclair Man Fatally Injured in Dec. 18 Collision Identified
A 90-year-old man from Montclair died the day after being hit by a vehicle on Thursday, Dec. 18.

A man who was struck by a vehicle at the intersection of Grove and Walnut streets on Dec. 18, succumbed to his injuries the following day.
The man, who was later identified as Joseph Lombardi, 90, of Montclair, was struck at the intersection and taken to University Hospital in Newark, where he was treated for his injuries, according to TAPinto.net. Lombardi died of his injuries suffered in the collision on Friday, Dec. 19.
Lombardi was a Montclair native and a World War II veteran with the Army Air Force who helped build a church in Okinawa, Japan, according to The Star-Ledger. Lombardi was the husband of 69 years to Mildred, father of three adult children, grandfather to eight grandchildren and a great-grandchild, according to The Star-Ledger.

Visiting will be on Monday, Dec. 22, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., at Caggiano Memorial Home, located at 62 Grove St. Montclair, according to The Star-Ledger. A funeral mass has been arranged for Tuesday, Dec. 23, at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of the Lake Church in Verona, N.J.
