Montclair Man Harassed Restaurant Diners, EMT Workers: Police
A Montclair resident has been accused of harassing customers at a restaurant and interfering with emergency medical responders.

MONTCLAIR, NJ — A Montclair resident has been accused of harassing customers at a local restaurant and interfering with emergency medical responders last weekend, authorities announced Tuesday.
Th e Montclair Police Department released the following details about each incident, which both involved the same person, authorities told Patch:
February 18 (Bloomfield Avenue) – “The manager at Bareburger reported that an intoxicated male entered the restaurant and began harassing paying customers. When asked to leave, the male caused a disturbance but ultimately left. Prior to leaving, the suspect stole a steak knife from a restaurant table. Officers located the suspect, a 33-year-old male from Montclair, and charged him with theft and disorderly conduct. The knife was recovered.”

February 18 (Glenridge Avenue) – “Emergency medical technicians from the Montclair Ambulance Unit reported that they were tending to a patient on a medical call on Glenridge Avenue. They were approached by a suspect who began interfering with their duties. The suspect was yelling at the patient as Montclair EMS were attempting to assist [them], and demanding the patient turn over cigarettes to him. The EMT’s repeatedly asked the suspect to leave the area. The suspect allegedly put his right hand on one EMT’s left shoulder and said, ‘Do you want me to smack you,’ while simultaneously raising his right hand to show such a gesture. He then fled the scene. Officers located the suspect, a 33-year-old male from Montclair, and charged him with aggravated assault and terroristic threats.”
