Montclair Man Helped 2 Teens Rob Apartment Party: Police
A Montclair man has been accused of conspiring with two North Jersey teens to rob an apartment party at gunpoint, authorities said.

MONTCLAIR, NJ — A Montclair man has been accused of conspiring with two teens to rob an apartment party at gunpoint last week, authorities said.
According to the Montclair Police Department, officers responded to a report of an armed robbery at an apartment on Pine Street around 10 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 22.
The resident of the apartment told officers that she was hosting a small party, which included a guest later identified as Jonathan Funderburk, 20, of Montclair. Shortly after Funderburk arrived, two masked men entered the home. One brandished a handgun and demanded money, police said.

The resident of the home said the intruder with the gun then reached into her bra, possibly to check if she had any money hidden, police stated.
Many of the partygoers fled the scene when the intruders burst in. The masked men then made their escape before police arrived, authorities said.

Montclair officers arriving on the scene saw two people who matched witness descriptions in the area. When they spotted the officers, the pair took off running east on Bloomfield Avenue.
Police immediately caught one of the suspects, finding a loaded handgun in his waistband as well as suspected proceeds from the robbery, including cash, an iPhone and wireless headphones.
He was later identified as a 17-year-old Jersey City resident and charged with robbery, burglary, unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, resisting arrest, conspiracy and aggravated criminal sexual contact.
Police caught the second suspect, a 17-year-old Orange resident, in a parking lot on Bloomfield Avenue shortly afterwards. He was charged with robbery, burglary, resisting arrest and conspiracy.
Authorities accused Funderburk of helping the juveniles to carry out the robbery. He was charged with robbery, conspiracy and two counts of use of a juvenile to commit a criminal offense.
