Montclair Man Locked Liquor Workers In Store, Made Threats: PD

Montclair police arrested a 38-year-old man after he allegedly locked the staff of a liquor store inside the building and threatened them.

MONTCLAIR, NJ — Montclair police arrested a 38-year-old man last week after he allegedly locked the staff of a local liquor store inside the building, threatened them and physically assaulted one of them.

According to the Montclair Police Department, the incident took place on Tuesday, July 3 at Caggiano’s Liquors on Glenridge Avenue. After the encounter, police arrested Jamal Liggins, 38, of Montclair, and charged him with Defiant Trespass, Criminal Restraint, Simple Assault and Terroristic Threats.
