Montclair Man Spots Burglars Trying To Enter Neighbor’s Home: Police

It happened while he was making his morning coffee, Montclair police said.

MONTCLAIR, NJ — It happened while he was making his morning coffee, Montclair police said.

According to the Montclair Police Department, a burglary attempt took place on Overlook Road on Friday. Here’s what happened, authorities said:

“The resident reported that while he was making his morning coffee, he looked out of his kitchen window and observed a male with a thin build wearing a black track suit attempting to open the back door to his neighbor’s house. He observed three males in total. The caller stated that all three suspects were wearing black cloth masks and could not provide any further description. The suspects were unable to make entry, at which time all suspects fled to an awaiting black Audi which was parked on Overlook Road. The black Audi was last seen traveling west on Overlook Road and out of sight.”

The suspects were possibly attempting to get to an Audi S7 that was parked in the neighbor’s driveway, Montclair police said.
