MONTCLAIR, NJ — Mayor Sean Spiller delivered his State of the Township address at the meeting of the Montclair Township Council meeting on Tuesday.

Unsurprisingly, the coronavirus crisis was at the forefront of his speech, with Spiller underscoring the devastating effects of the pandemic in Montclair, both in terms of lives and the local economy.

Montclair has made gains over the past year, the mayor pointed out, including paved roadways, miles of replaced water and sewer lines, and achieving an AAA bond rating despite the financial challenges of the pandemic.

But the impact of COVID-19 has left its mark on the township – and the challenges will continue in 2021, he added.
