Montclair Officials: Take Care When Paying Utility Bills On Doxo

Montclair Officials: "doxo.com may charge extra fees and the township cannot control when payments will be received."

MONTCLAIR, NJ — Montclair town officials are advising residents to be careful if they choose to pay their bills via a website that may appear to be affiliated with the municipality… but isn’t.

On Wednesday, Montclair town officials released the following advisory:

“Google search results for Montclair online bill payments may yield a website that appears to be affiliated with the Township of Montclair but is not: doxo.com. This is a third-party website that allows people to pay utility bills via their site. Please be cautioned: doxo.com may charge extra fees and the township cannot control when payments will be received... This could lead to service disconnection due to non-payment or interest charges for late payment.”

To make sure you’re paying the Township of Montclair directly, officials recommended visiting the municipality’s website billing office page at: https:/www.montclairnjusa.org/government/departments/finance_and_taxes/tax_collection__water_payments__sewer_payments/
