MONTCLAIR, NJ — Montclair police apprehended three juveniles last week after they led officers on a car chase in an allegedly stolen vehicle, then crashed on Belleville Avenue, authorities say.

According to the Montclair Police Department, officers received a report of juveniles allegedly breaking into vehicles on Cambridge Street on Nov. 5. On arrival, officers saw a red Ford Fusion in the area that was reported stolen out of Montclair on Nov. 4.

At that time, the Ford sped away from the scene. Police followed and the chase continued onto Ridgewood Avenue in Glen Ridge. The driver of the Ford lost control of the vehicle at the intersection of Belleville Avenue, then struck a gas lantern and a tree, authorities said.
