Montclair Police Department Blotter
The December 23 police blotter includes robbery, vehicle break-ins, shoplifting and a house fire.

Arrest:
Dec. 20 at 1:4 a.m., officers conducted a motor vehicle stop on a black Pontiac in the area of Bloomfield Avenue and New Street. The driver, Gary Clark Jr., 35, from Bloomfield, was found to have an odor of alcoholic beverage on his breath. Officers conducted field sobriety tests, and then placed Clark under arrest for DWI.
Dec. 20 at 7:22 p.m., Urban Outfitters, located at 20 South Park Street, reported that they were the victims of a shoplifting. They explained that two females had just filled up two large shopping bags with merchandise and fled the store. Officers located two female subjects at the bus stop at Bloomfield Avenue and Gates Avenue who matched the suspect descriptions. These subjects, two 16-year-old juveniles from Orange and Newark, were found to be in possession of 47 stolen items, totaling $2,371. They were placed under arrest and charged with Shoplifting.

Dec. 19 at 11:24 p.m., officers conducted a motor vehicle stop on a black Toyota Celica in the area of Bloomfield Avenue and the Glen Ridge town line. The driver, Cleve Upchurch, 26, from Paterson, was found to have an odor of alcoholic beverage on his breath. Officers conducted field sobriety tests, and then placed Upchurch under arrest for DWI.
Dec. 20 at 10:35 p.m., officers were dispatched to Pathmark, located at 35 Lackawanna Plaza, on a report of a male fighting with security. Upon arriving, they located David Blakely, 24, from Montclair, arguing with security. Blakely was intoxicated and attempted to strike the security officer. Blakely was placed under arrest and charged with Disorderly Persons.

Dec. 19 at 11:22 p.m., Officers responded to a motor vehicle accident at Park Street and Wildwood Avenue. Officers observed that a 2008 Lexus had struck two parked vehicles on Park Street. The driver, Linda Alexandroff, 40, from Clifton, was found to have an odor of alcoholic beverage on her breath. Officers conducted field sobriety tests, and then placed Alexandroff under arrest for DWI.
Robbery:
Dec. 15, a 16-year-old Montclair resident reported that he was the victim of an armed robbery. The victim explained that at 5 p.m., he was waiting for the bus at Bloomfield Avenue and South Park Street, when approached by three males. These three males surrounded the victim, demanding his money and cellular telephone. During this robbery, one of the males lifted this shirt to show a black handgun tucked in his waistband. The three suspects then fled on foot, south on South Park Street. Taken in this incident was a black Samsung Galaxy 4 cellular telephone and $5 cash. The suspects are described as:
Suspect #1 – Black male, 18-19 years of age, 6 feet tall, wearing a black Northface brand hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans.
Suspect #2 - Black male, 18-19 years of age, 6 feet tall, wearing a blue Northface brand hooded sweatshirt.
Suspect #3 – Black male, 20 years of age, 6 foot 2 inches, thin moustache, wearing a black skull cap, Polo brand jacket, black jeans, Timberland brand boots.
Miscellaneous:
Dec. 16 at 4:23 p.m., Montclair Police Department and Montclair Fire Department responded to a Forest Street residence on a report of a structure fire. Upon arriving, units observed flames coming from the third floor in the rear of the residence. The residence was determined to be unoccupied at that time. The third floor of this residence suffered significant damage. There were no injuries reported in this incident. MFD is investigating the cause of this fire.
Dec. 19, a Montclair resident reported that they were the victims of a theft from a motor vehicle in the Lorraine/Bellevue Lot. The victim explained that between 1:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m., someone had entered their Nissan Rogue. A pocketbook, wallet and $40 cash were stolen in this incident. There was no damage to the vehicle.
