Montclair Police To Hold 'National Night Out' Event On Tuesday

The Montclair Police Department will host its annual National Night Out event on Tuesday, Aug. 2.

The Montclair Police Department will host its annual National Night Out event on Tuesday, August 2, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on South Park and Church streets. Both roadways will be completely closed off. Community members will have opportunities to speak one-on-one with local law enforcement officers and other public safety officials. Children will also get to see – up close and personal – all of the equipment first responders use on a daily basis.

Members of the Montclair Police Department, Montclair Fire Department, and Montclair Ambulance Unit will be on hand to speak with individuals and display their equipment. Safety brochures and novelty items will also be available.

Local shops and vendors are also invited to come out for the event.

National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live. National Night Out enhances the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement while bringing back a true sense of community. Furthermore, it provides a great opportunity to bring police and neighbors together under positive circumstances.

Millions of neighbors take part in National Night Out across thousands of communities from all fifty states, U.S. territories and military bases worldwide on the first Tuesday in August (Texas celebrates on the first Tuesday in October). Neighborhoods host block parties, festivals, parades, cookouts and various other community events with safety demonstrations, seminars, youth events, visits from emergency personnel, exhibits and much, much more.*
