Montclair Police: ‘Luring’ Involving 2 Girls Reported Last Week

Two girls were playing in the front yard, when a man in a car asked if they needed a ride, Montclair police said.

MONTCLAIR, NJ — A “luring” incident was reported in Montclair last week, police announced Tuesday.

According to the Montclair Police Department, a Heller Way resident said her 12-year-old daughter and 8-year-old niece were playing in the front yard of their home on March 18, when a dark-red, four-door vehicle stopped nearby.

The driver – described as a man from 20 to 30-years-old – allegedly asked the girls if they needed a ride. The juveniles ran to the back yard and told their parents what happened, authorities said.
