Montclair Police: Shell Casings Found On Mission Street

The intended target of the bullets is unknown, Montclair police say.

Montclair, NJ - Montclair police have confirmed that spent shell casings were recently found following reports of gunshots in the Mission Street area last week.

According to police, officers assigned to Mission Street heard approximately six gunshots coming from mid-block on Mission Street on Dec. 2.

After conducting a search of the area, officers found multiple spent shell casings, police said.

No injuries were reported and the intended target is unknown, police added.

Montclair police identified the Mission Street area for crime reduction efforts in 2013 and 2014 following several violent crimes, including multiple shootings.
