Montclair Preps For Hillary Clinton Book Signing; Road Closures Announced

She may not have won the presidential election, but Hillary Clinton can still draw a crowd. See why she's headed to Montclair.

MONTCLAIR, NJ — She may not have won the presidential election, but Hillary Clinton can still draw a crowd. And when the former U.S. Secretary of State makes her book signing appearance at Watchung Booksellers in Montclair at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 26 at 54 Fairfield Street – an event that quickly sold out when first announced – even the apolitical will feel the impact of her arrival in town.

Clinton is appearing at Watchung Booksellers to promote her recently released tome, "What Happened." She will also sign copies of her 2017 illustrated children's book edition of "It Takes A Village," available for purchase at the store the day of the event.

According to a Montclair township news release, there will be several road closures when Clinton arrives on Sept. 26:

  • Fairfield Street will be closed between North Fullerton Avenue and Watchung Plaza from 3 p.m. until approximately 10 p.m. Watchung Plaza will be closed from 3 p.m. until approximately 10 p.m.
  • NJ Transit commuters must be picked up from the Park Street side of the train station – there will be no access to the Fairfield Street side.
  • The Fairfield lot will be closed from 3p.m. until approximately 10 p.m., however commuters will be given access to exit the lot.

About 1,000 tickets have been sold for the event, according to Watchung Booksellers.

"Only those with Hillary Clinton's book purchased in advance from Watchung Booksellers will be permitted entry to the book store," Montclair police stated.
