Montclair Radiology gives free heart scans to Nutley Police

Montclair Radiology is ONLY radiology firm offering free heart scans to police in Nutley - other towns to follow!

Did you know that first responders have a much higher rate of heart attacks - often fatal - than civilians? For years experts have been reporting the this but on one ever seems to do anything about it. Just think: every time a police officer helps you or arrests a dangerous criminal or an EMT or fire fighter shows up to also save your life - they are putting their own safety at risk. For the first time a local imaging company, Montclair Radiology, is stepping up to DONATE free heart scans called Calcium Scoring to police officers. They now offer it in Nutley with plans to roll out this to all first responders there - and plan to grow this even more to other locations.

The Harvard School of Public Health and the Cambridge Health Alliance report police officers have a 30 – 70 higher times’ risk of experiencing “sudden cardiac death when they are in stressful situations”. In the U.S., heart attacks rank in the top causes of deaths of cops, and 10 percent of all on-duty deaths are caused by sudden cardiac deaths annually. A report by the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) reported the life expectancy of police officers is 20 years less than that of civilians.

Cardiac Calcium Scoring CT is a wonderful - low radiation, non invasive and can offer detailed images of the heart within 3 or 4 minutes! This can save lives.

I am planning to switch my mammograms to this wonderful radiology center! My friend at the Jersey Tomato Press said they are in Montclair, Nutley, Verona, West Caldwell and Jersey City.

Let's support our first responders! Way to go Montclair Radiology.
