Montclair Resident, 28, Fatally Shot In Orange: Authorities
A Montclair resident was found with gunshot wounds in Orange. He was pronounced dead at a hospital in Newark, prosecutors said.
ESSEX COUNTY, NJ — A fatal shooting in Orange claimed the life of a 28-year-old Montclair resident on Thursday, authorities said.
Police in Orange responded to Aldine Street and Cleveland Street at 12:56 a.m. after getting a report about a shooting in the area, according to a statement from the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office and the Orange Police Department.
Officers found Katon Washington, 28, of Montclair, suffering from gunshot wounds. He was taken to University Hospital in Newark and pronounced dead at 1:43 a.m.

No arrests have been made as of Friday, prosecutors said.
