A Montclair woman was making her morning coffee when a youth in a black mask peeked around her basement door, authorities said.
MONTCLAIR, NJ — A Montclair resident got an unwelcome shock from a teenage home intruder last week, authorities said Tuesday.
According to the Montclair Police Department, the incident took place on Oct. 1 on Christopher Street. Here’s what happened, authorities said:
“A resident reported that she was in the kitchen making coffee at approximately 5:10 a.m. when she heard someone moving around in the basement. She stated that she sat down in her living room area when the basement door opened and a male approximately 14 to 15-years-old wearing all black with a black mask peered around the door and made eye contact with her. The suspect pulled the basement door shut, and the resident called 9-1-1.”
The teen intruder appears to have entered the home through a basement window, police said.
