Montclair Restaurant Burglarized, Cash Register Swiped: Police
When workers showed up at the restaurant, they saw that the cash register was missing, Montclair police said.
MONTCLAIR, NJ — A man was captured on video stealing the cash register from a restaurant in Montclair last week, police said Tuesday.
According to the Montclair Police Department, the burglary took place Sept. 22 on Bloomfield Avenue. Here’s what happened, authorities said:
“Employees of Greek Taverna reported that when they arrived for work, they discovered that the cash register was missing. Surveillance video reveals that at approximately 6 a.m., an unknown suspect entered the restaurant from the Gates Avenue entrance. The suspect steals the register, which contained approximately $400 in cash.”
Police said the suspect was described as a bald or nearly bald male with a beard, between 5 feet 6 inches to 5 feet 8 inches with a medium build.
