Montclair Restaurant With Gluten-Free Options Closes Due To ‘Skyrocketing Lease’: Report

Montclair's restaurant scene is now a little less cozy for gluten-free diners.

MONTCLAIR, NJ — As of last week, Montclair’s restaurant scene is now a little less cozy.

Michael Awad, the owner of The Cozy End on Valley Road told Baristanet that he decided to close his restaurant – which has been in town under various owners since 1969 and has become known for being a gluten-free option for local diners – due to the “skyrocketing lease cost” and his inability to pay the rent.

The restaurant’s website reads:
