Montclair Restaurant Is ‘Top Place To Eat’ In NJ, Yelp List Says

MONTCLAIR, NJ — A restaurant that just opened this year in Montclair appeared at the top of Yelp’s new “Top 100” list.

Last week, a Yelp blog listed the “Top 100 Places to Eat in New Jersey in 2022,” putting Boomchia at number one.

The restaurant – which celebrated a grand opening in February – is located at 427 Bloomfield Avenue. The self-described “superfoods café” serves bowls that are “enhanced with superfood bases and toppings,” and bills itself as “100 percent vegan” and “mostly organic.”

As of Thursday, Boomchia has racked up a five-star rating from 44 reviewers on Yelp.

Here’s how the list was put together:

“This is a list of the Top Places to Eat in New Jersey in 2022 according to Yelp. We identified businesses in the food and restaurants category on Yelp, then ranked those spots using a number of factors, including the total volume and ratings of reviews between January 1, 2022 and November 3, 2022. This list looked at businesses in New Jersey. All businesses were marked open on Yelp as of November 30, 2022.”

Boomchia wasn’t the only restaurant in Montclair to make the list. Others included:

• Minia’s – Montclair – 58th
• Good Chicken – 61st
• Palato Caffe & Cucina – 68th
• Cap’t Loui – 94th
