Montclair, NJ – Being based out of a train station has its benefits, according to the owner of De Novo restaurant in Montclair.
Demetri Malki recently told NJ.com that there are three big advantages to having his restaurant located at the Upper Montclair NJ Transit Train Station on Bellevue Avenue:
- Free advertising
- A full liquor license
- Free parking
In Montclair – whose residents regularly bemoan parking conditions in the township – the advantage of free parking is especially attractive.

“It’s a business metric that matters, and the asset of free parking is an advantage that evokes genuine envy among most other restaurateurs in the state, many of whom are often shocked and annoyed that they also must be in the parking attendant business,” NJ.com wrote.
