MONTCLAIR RUN TO RAISE MONEY FOR SCHOLARSHIPS
The Montclair Run on Sunday, June 5. is a fun family day that includes a 10K race and 2 mile fun run.
The YMCA of Montclair and the Montclair Recreation Department will sponsor their 34th Montclair Run on Sunday, June 5. It's a fun family day to benefit the community. The event features a 2 mile fun run/walk and a 10K (6.2 mile) road race. In addition to the races, there will be a health and wellness fair, sports massages, music, activities for kids, and a moonwalk.
Both organizations are dedicated to helping the community improve their health and wellness. The Montclair Run is a great way for everyone to kick off the start of the summer. More than 1,400 runners, walkers, volunteers, and spectators of all ages are expected to participate.
"The Montclair Run raises money to provide scholarships for people to participate in YMCA of Montclair and Montclair township programs," said YMCA of Montclair CEO Jo Ann Short. “It's both a favorite for local runners and for families looking for a healthy activity that they can do together.”

"The event is a long standing community tradition and I'm proud to say that I've been part of this from the inception and have watched it grow exponentially," said Pat Brechka, the Montclair Recreation Department Director. Pat co-directs the race with Carol Kearney, Program Coordinator for the YMCA of Montclair.
This year’s honorary race starter is Marathon Runner and Coach John Fabbro, owner of Fleet Feet Sports.

- 8:30 a.m. 2 mile fun run/walk starts.
- 9:30 a.m. 10K starts.
- Awards to follow each race.
The races begin and end in front of the YMCA of Montclair, 25 Park Street, Montclair. Participants can register multiple ways:
- Online at www.raceforum.com/montclair by May 30.
- In person at the YMCA of Montclair, 25 Park Street, Montclair by June 2.
- In person at Fleet Feet Sports, 603 Bloomfield Ave., Montclair through June 4 (cash or checks only).
- On race day inside the YMCA of Montclair, 7a.m.-9 a.m.
