Montclair School Of Rock To Offer Summer Camps For Young Musicians
School of Rock Montclair will offer nine weeks of themed music camps for young musicians during the summer months of 2016.

Montclair, NJ - School of Rock Montclair will offer nine weeks of music camps during June, July, and August, according to a company news release.
The camps will present a variety of artist themes, including tributes to Nirvana, Led Zeppelin, The Who, The Beatles, and Queen.
“Our summer camps have proven to be hugely popular with musicians of all ages, and our line-up this year will focus on the music of some of the world’s greatest bands,” said Kevin March, General Manager at School of Rock Montclair. “The emphasis will be on fun, energy, and fist-pumping loudness.”

Campers will be arranged in groups, and each group will come up with their own band name and design their own band logo.
All camps will be held at School of Rock Montclair, 125 Valley Road from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

School of Rock Montclair’s 2016 summer camp schedule follows:
ROCK 101 (6/27 through 7/1)
Open to beginning musicians with little to no experience, this camp is a great way for aspiring rockers to get started by learning and performing hits by Adele, Tom Petty, The Ramones, Lorde, the Rolling Stones, David Bowie, and more. The week will end with a Friday afternoon open house concert at the School and pizza lunch.
THE BEATLES (7/11 through 7/15)
Open to musicians of all skill levels. Campers will experience The Beatles’ entire catalog, including songs from such classic albums as Rubber Soul, Abbey Road, The White Album, and more. The camp will wrap up with a Saturday, 7/16 lunchtime camper concert at Just Jake’s in Montclair, featuring performances of the Beatles songs that were learned during the week.
NIRVANA (7/18 through 7/22)
Open to musicians of all skill levels. Campers will explore the catalog and history of Nirvana, arguably the most prolific and influential band of the 1990's. The camp will wrap up with a Saturday, 7/23 lunchtime camper concert at Just Jake’s, featuring performances of Nirvana songs that were learned during the week.
LED ZEPPELIN (7/25 through 7/29)
Open to musicians of all skill levels. Campers will get their hands on Zep’s most awesome, grooving, and hard rocking songs. The camp will wrap up with a Saturday, 7/30 lunchtime camper concert at Just Jake’s, featuring performances of Led Zeppelin songs that were learned during the week.
QUEEN (8/1 through 8/5)
Open to musicians of all skill levels. Campers will learn as many of Queen’s diverse, anthemic, and theatrically energetic songs as is possible during the week. The camp will wrap up with a Saturday, 8/6 lunchtime camper concert at Just Jake’s, featuring performances of Queen songs that were learned during the week.
THE WHO (8/8 through 8/12)
Open to musicians of all skill levels. Campers will discover the explosive, dynamic, and era-defining music of The Who. The camp will wrap up with a Saturday, 8/13 lunchtime camper concert at Just Jake’s, featuring performances of Who songs that were learned during the week.
SONGWRITING AND RECORDING CAMP (8/15 through 8/19)
Campers will be placed in bands that will write and rehearse their own original music during the week and then perform their songs at Just Jake’s on Saturday, 8/20. The bands’ performances will be judged, and the winning band will receive a free recording session at a local state-of-the-art studio where they will record their composition.
THE BEATLES (8/22 through 8/26)
Open to musicians of all skill levels. Campers will explore The Beatles’ entire catalog, including songs from such classic albums as Rubber Soul, Abbey Road, The White Album, and more. The camp will wrap up with a Saturday, 8/27 lunchtime camper concert at Just Jake’s, featuring performances of Beatles songs that were learned during the week.
