Montclair Schools Near Decision On Superintendent
Montclair parents and community members will get a chance to meet the three finalists at a public forum on Monday, Feb. 26.

MONTCLAIR, NJ — The Montclair Public School District is closing in on a final choice for a permanent superintendent. Local parents and community members will get a chance to meet the three finalists later this month at a public forum on Monday, Feb. 26.
The public forum will take place at 6:30 p.m. at the Montclair High School auditorium. Prior to the forum, the public and staff have an opportunity to submit questions that will be asked of each of the candidates. Questions may be submitted by email no later than 5 p.m. on Feb. 18, or by placing them in a box located at each school’s main office no later than 3 p.m. on Feb. 16.

The Montclair Board of Education plans to announce the three final applicants under consideration for the superintendent post at its Feb. 20 meeting, according to the district website.
The district’s current interim superintendent, Barbara Pinsak, was appointed to the position in March 2017.

According to the district website, the calendar provides for a July 1, 2018 start date, with earlier opportunities for transition activities. However, the actual appointment date is subject to the executive county superintendent’s approval of the new contract.
