MONTCLAIR, NJ — A string of home burglaries and a car theft took place last week in Montclair, police said.
According to the Montclair Police Department, the following incidents were recently reported in the township. Keep updated with local public safety alerts at the Patch Montclair Facebook page.
- 11-22-2018 (Lorraine Avenue) "Burglary to a residence. Access was gained by smashing a rear window. An unknown amount of jewelry was taken in this incident."
- 11-22-2018 (Highland Avenue) "Burglary to a residence. Access was gained by breaking a basement window. An unknown amount of jewelry was taken in this incident."
- 11-22-2018 (Edgecliff Road) "Burglary to a residence. Access was gained by smashing a rear window. A wallet and a knapsack containing clothing were taken in this incident."
- 11-23-2018 (Nishuane Road) "A gold Lexus 300 was stolen from the driveway of a residence. The vehicle had been left running and unattended. This vehicle was located later that date in the City of Newark."
- 11-23-2018 (Alexander Avenue) "Burglary to a residence. The home was rummaged through, but unknown if anything was taken in this incident. There was no sign of forced entry."
- 11-25-2018 (Macopin Road) "Attempted burglary to a residence. A window was broken in this incident, but it does not appear that access was gained to the home."
- 11-25-2018 (Park Street) "Burglary to a residence. An undetermined amount of jewelry was taken in this incident. There were no signs of forced entry to the home."
