Montclair Sees Two Police Car Chases In A Week
Car chases took place on Orange Road and Van Vleck Street in Montclair, police say.

The Montclair Police Department reported that two car pursuits took place in the township last week.
According to police, the first chase took place on Oct. 28, when officers spotted a black Jeep Patriot that was reported as having eluded Glen Ridge police on Oct. 27.
Officers initiated the pursuit on Orange Road, which ended in East Orange with the arrest of the driver, Brendon Satterwhite, 28, of East Orange.

Police charged Satterwhite with eluding; he was also held on a no-bail warrant out of the Essex County Sheriffs Office.
The second chase took place on Oct. 30, when officers arrested Jesus Mercado, 18, of Montclair, and Cindy Bello, 20, of New York.

According to police, the pair allegedly eluded officers in their vehicle, then parked on Van Vleck Street and attempted to flee on foot.
Mercado resisted arrest during the escape attempt, police stated.
Police charged Mercado with resisting arrest, obstruction and eluding, and Bello with obstruction.
