Montclair Senior Center Progressing, Focus Group Sessions Planned

Want to get a progress update on Montclair's long-awaited senior center? Mark these two dates down on your calendar.

MONTCLAIR, NJ — Want to get a progress update on Montclair’s long-awaited senior center? Representatives from the township, Aging in Montclair, Montclair Gateway to Aging in Place, and MNDC/Do Drop are planning to host focus group sessions about the Lifelong Montclair Center for Modern Aging later this month.

According to a news release, the initial focus groups are scheduled for Thursday, Jan. 23 at 11 a.m. and Thursday, Jan. 30 at 6:30 p.m. Both sessions will take place at the Montclair Women’s Club, 82 Union Street.

“We have made a strong start identifying key issues confronting our modern agers community including programming, housing, tech support, transportation and health concerns,” said Judy Hurley, township director of the Division of Senior Services Lifelong Montclair.

“These gatherings will give us an opportunity to hear directly from our peers on those issues and more, so we can work together to build a center that meets all of our needs,” Hurley said.
