Montclair Shakespeare Series Continues With 'A Midsummer Night's Dream'

The free, outdoor, "no frills" reading will take place at Van Vleck House and Gardens on June 30.

Following their inaugural reading of “Twelfth Night” last month, the newly founded Montclair Shakespeare Series will perform a free, outdoor staged reading of “A Midsummer Night’s Dream,” at 7 p.m. on Tuesday June 30, at the Van Vleck House and Gardens.

Accompanied by live acoustic music, the “no-frills” reading style features plays that are read by the actors with the script in hand with limited staging. The emphasis is on the classical language and on the actors’ ability to bring the characters to life without costumes, sets, or movement.

This performance will feature a stellar cast of actors from both NYC and the Montclair area.
