Montclair Society of Engineers Annual High School Robotics Extravaganza. May 20

It is May in Montclair and that means … it’s time for the Montclair Society of Engineers annual HIGH SCHOOL ROBOTICS EXTRAVAGANZA !

This year we are pleased that Bloomfield High School’s team, the ROBOTIGERS, will join Montclair Robotics and the Clifton Mechanical Mustangs.

The students will explain how they designed and constructed their robots in just six weeks to meet this year’s challenge: “STRONGHOLD” – a medieval themed game.

The teams will demonstrate how their robots breach a castle’s defenses, heave “boulders” into the tower, and climb the tower wall – all in two and a half minutes.

In the first thirty seconds the robots operate autonomously, under control of the on board computers. And then the drivers take over.

Children, and adults, are invited to inspect the robots and chat with the teams .

This is always our most popular events and is great fun.

All meetings of the Montclair Society of Engineers are free and open to the public.
