Montclair, State Police Search For Home Invasion Suspect
Authorities are searching for a man accused of breaking into a Montclair home.
MONTCLAIR, NJ — Authorities are searching for a man accused of breaking into a Montclair home last month.
According to the New Jersey State Police, the “home invasion/attempted burglary” took place around 1:30 p.m. on Oct. 22 at a residence in Upper Montclair.
The suspect broke into the home and “confronted” the victim, then fled on foot towards the NJ Transit railroad tracks, police said.

Police described the suspect as a tall, black male wearing a mask which covered the lower portion of his face, a black-hooded sweatshirt and black pants (see below artist sketch).
