In Montclair: Stone Temple Pilots to Play Benefit Show at Wellmont Theater
Robert DeLeo, born in Montclair, will join bandmates on stage for Hurricane Sandy relief concert this Saturday.

Montclair-born Robert DeLeo will join the rest of his bandmates from Stone Temple Pilots on stage at the Wellmont Theater for a Superstorm Sandy relief benefit show on Saturday, April 25.
According to an Asbury Park Press report, the band – which became famous in the 1990s with songs such as “Plush,” “Creep,” “Interstate Love Song” and “Big Empty” – will donate one dollar from every ticket sold on their current spring tour to Music for Relief, a nonprofit organization dedicated to disaster relief and environmental protection.
Funds will support long term Hurricane Sandy recovery in New Jersey including housing assistance and home repairs, mental health and social services as well as tree planting.

The tour will feature new lead singer, Chester Bennington, known for his work with Linkin Park.
Recently, former STP lead singer, Scott Weiland, settled a lawsuit allowing the band to continue touring using their original name.

The band was previously required to add the rider, “With Chester Bennington,” to the end of their name.
