Montclair Story Salon presents: THE SUMMER THAT CHANGED ME
A Fundraising Salon to Support the YMCA of Montclair's Summer Camp Scholarship Fund

Montclair Story Salon proudly presents The Summer That Changed Me, an evening of storytelling, music, and live art on Thursday, April 23 at 7:00 PM at the Women’s Club on Union St. in Montclair. This inspiring event raises funds to support neighbors in need with financial assistance so that every child is empowered to build confidence and make lifelong memories at camp. All stories and songs will center on the theme “The Summer That Changed Me.” Each of the storytellers and artists have experienced either a summer at camp or a summer that changed their life, offering powerful, personal perspectives. The evening will feature:
- Four storytellers: Amanda Stephen (actress, Orange is the New Black and Creative Plus business owner), Sean Long (Montclair Board of Education & YMCA board member), Kimmi Berlin (storyteller, nonprofit founder), and Bridget Placek (writer)
- Singer-songwriter: Joe Colwell (MHS ’23 graduate, musician/singer, recording artist)
- Live painting by John “Yani” Fotiadis (visual artist and architect)
- MC for the evening: Liz Samuel, founder of Montclair Story Salon.
Community support also comes from generous sponsors: Elaine Pardalos, Brown Harris Stevens, NJ Realtor and NJ Ready 2 Play All proceeds will directly benefit the YMCA of Montclair’s Summer Camp Scholarship Fund, dedicated to funding camp experiences for those in need of financial assistance. Light refreshments will be served. Seating is limited!
