Montclair Thefts: Handicap Placard, Tip Jar, Gas, Foreign Coins

With 2 weeks still remaining in April, Montclair residents have already reported a diverse mix of stolen items this month, authorities said.

MONTCLAIR, NJ — With April only half over, Montclair residents have already reported a diverse mix of stolen items this month, authorities said.

According to the Montclair Police Department, the following thefts were recently reported in the township:

  • 4-1- 2018 (New Jin Lin Chinese Restaurant) - Theft of the tip jar from the store register area.
  • 4-1- 2018 (Delta, Harrison Avenue) - Theft of gas. The vehicle, a 4-door Black Honda, fled the scene after receiving a full tank.
  • 4-2- 2018 (Glenwood Avenue) - Theft of silverware from a home. There was no sign of forced entry.
  • 4-3- 2018 (Claremont Avenue) - Theft of delivered packages from the front of a residence. These packages contained jewelry.
  • 4-3- 2018 (Highland Avenue) - Theft of a delivered package containing clothing items from the front porch of a residence.
  • 4-4- 2018 (Walnut Street) - Theft of electronics which had been delivered to the front porch of a home.
  • 4-5- 2018 (South Fullerton Avenue) - Theft of a wallet from an unlocked motor vehicle.
  • 4-5- 2018 (Hawthorne Place) - Theft of a handicap placard from an unlocked motor vehicle.
  • 4-9- 2018 (Ramsey Road) - Burglary to a residence. Foreign coins were taken in this incident.
  • 4-9- 2018 (Upper Mountain Avenue) - Theft of loose change from a parked vehicle.
