Montclair Will Hear Leaf Blowers Until Dec. 30 (Here’s Why)

Montclair town code normally limits the use of leaf blowers to March 1 through June 30, and Oct. 1 through Dec. 15.

MONTCLAIR, NJ — Mild fall weather and stubborn trees that refuse to give up their leaves. That’s why Montclair residents will hear the sound of leaf blowers until Saturday, Dec. 30, town officials say.

The township’s code normally limits the use of leaf blowers to March 1 through June 30, and Oct. 1 through Dec. 15. (See related article: Montclair Remains Divided On Leaf Blower Law)

However, Montclair officials are extending the winter cutoff date to Dec. 30 due to “mild fall weather” and the fact that “many trees in the township still have leaves on them, resulting in the delay of fall cleanup for many residents.”
