Montclair YMCA’s Fishing Poles Stolen, Realtor Buys New Ones

Someone stole the Montclair YMCA's fishing equipment, leaving next summer's angling season in jeopardy. Then a local realtor stepped in.

MONTCLAIR, NJ — Someone stole the Montclair YMCA’s fishing equipment, leaving next summer’s angling season in jeopardy. Until the owner of a local real estate company stepped in, the nonprofit recently reported.

Last week, the YMCA of Montclair shared the following story on social media:

“Meet Rich Stanton. He owns a local real estate company and he’s an avid fisherman. In his spare time, Rich has also donated his time to fix our Camp at the Lake fishing equipment. A few weeks ago after we closed the camp down for the season, someone stole all the camp’s fishing equipment. Rich heard about it and surprised us recently by showing up with brand new fishing equipment for our campers to use next summer. Thank you Rich! We’re grateful for your thoughtful gift to the Y.”
